And yet again I got sucked into one of those 3 for 2 offers in Boots and thought I’d see what all the fuss was about. To tell the truth, I’d been reading up on BB creams before this purchase so I was looking forward to testing it.
BB stands for blemish balm and is supposed to act as a serum, moisturiser, primer, foundation, and sunblock – all in one!
Sounds good huh!? Well, because ‘moisturising’ was one of the BB creams purposes’ I did not put moisturiser on before my first application. The texture of L’Oreal’s Nude Magique is really bitty, like an exfoliator. This made my skin really dry when I applied it and the ‘bits’ were still very apparent on my face, as they were on my fingers.
After reading up through Yahoo! answers I found some girls still had to apply moisturiser before BB cream – which defeats the point for me, but I followed and did this anyway, which was then fine when I applied it the second time and went on as I expected it to before the first time.
The coverage is very light but did not cover most of my blemishs (sad face) and didn’t feel comfortable on. Also, for a ‘Fair Skin Tone’ (the fairest out of the 3 choices from L’Oreal) it left a noticeable orange glow on my face. Which is not hot – as you can see from the picture below, it does not match my fair skin!
I’ve only worn this twice, with the second time my Mum commenting on “oh you’re face looks a bit orange today” and I have never worn it since. I certainly did not believe in this BB cream’s ‘Magique’ and the search for the perfect BB cream/light foundation continues…
