Okay its been a little while since I’ve posted on this blog but I have been living out of a rucksack for the last 7-8 months – not very glamorous and no opportunities to really review beauty products either!
However, I am determined to keep my beauty reviews going so I’m beginning with the mascara I brought in a Boots in Bangkok. (That’s right, there’s Boots’ in Thailand, I almost jumped for joy! Oh how I’ve missed Boots…)
My usual Rimmel London Scadaleyes Lycra Flex mascara (the green one) had lasted me through most of Asia and it was time to get a new one. I do love the Scandaleyes series from Rimmel London and I do need to review them separately but this post is for Va Va Voom, which I originally saw reviewed on Glesni’s beauty blog here, which I quite enjoy and inspired me to start my own beauty blog.
I felt like a change so went for this Va Va Voom mascara, but also because the boots didn’t have a Rimmel London shelf. This is the first time I’ve brought anything from Boots’ SEVENTEEN range as I’m usually put off by its marketing to young teenage girls, which I am not one, anymore. But this mascara was really great, around 6 pounds it’s cheap for a mascara and does a good job!
My lashes looked long and feminine, not as voluminous as they do with Scandaleyes but if you want to acheive a different look such as this then I would definitely recommend it! I also love the packagaing which reflects a sixties/mod-type feel; a decade which never fails to conjure up images of lash envy for me.
I hope you can see from the pic below how long they are, unfortunately I didn’t get one with my eyes open and up close as I was in Thailand 4 months ago and I’ve brought a new mascara now which I plan on using for the first time tomorrow – something I’m particularly excited to about! I thought if I took this pic today then it wouldn’t do Va Va Voom much justice as it’s running a bit low now, as you can imagine! I hope you enjoyed this review anyway and I will review my new mascara in the next few days. And yes I did dye my hair ginger…
