As I say in the video, I first spotted these in a Lisa Elridge tutorial (the Alexa Chung Make-Up Tutorial to be more precise) and just had to get my hands on them!
Rimmel London was my favourite pharmacy (“drugstore”) make up brand for many years growing up, so when they bring out something new I feel I need to experiment with whatever it is – each product will never break the bank, so it’s safe enough for my purse!
I’ve had these two colours (“Pop of Pink” and “Sunkissed”) for a while now, meaning I’ve had plenty of time to play with them and make a decision if they’re getting my thumbs up, or thumbs down.
Regrettably, I was limited to only buying these two colours (seriously I’ve browsed in a few Superdrugs and Boots stores around the country.) Although there used to be a further 3 or 4 shades to chose from, before they vanished from the previously mentioned websites.
Hmm… this suggests sales weren’t doing too well, forcing Rimmel to pull back a bit?
Anyway, regardless of this I’d describe Stay Blushed! as a cream and definitely not a liquid, but for £4.49 they’re not bad.
Applying with your fingertips runs the risk of a blotchy finish, improved only if you smooth over it with a brush. The effect is more matte, rather than a natural flush and whilst I do prefer watery formulated cheek tints (that double up as lip stains too!) I appreciate Rimmel London covering new ground – things can only get better!
