I’ve decided to go back to my old way of writing my products reviews instead of filming them for this month’s Birchbox – reason being is people only seem to want to know what ya got in your box, then after that they’re a bit meh.
I tell a lie, not everyone, other Birchboxers seem to read the actual reviews part, so I’ll keep doing this for you guys! 🙂
Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish Cleanser with Muslin Cloth
Yes I know I reviewed this here and wasn’t blown away by it – but as Birchbox sent me it I decided to give it another try and I’m glad I did! I need to scribble out some of that past review and replace it with now two completely different opinions, that are – Body Shop’s Vitamin E Cleanser is EVIL (hurts my sensitive skin) and Liz Earle’s Cleanse & Polish Cleanser is GOOD (gentle – especially with a softly-does-it approach with the Muslin Cloth.) My skin feels nourished, which doesn’t usually happen from a cleanser and yes, a little glowy too.
Befine Warming Clay Mask
If you did catch my unboxing video then you’ll know I was a bit hesitant on this product – how wrong I was! This was honestly the best facial mask I’ve ever tried, it left my skin so completely smooth I couldn’t stop stroking it. A bit of a sting at £17 for the fullsize, but if you want to treat yourself it would be a good investment.
Lola Barcelona Nail Polish in Born
My immediate favourite product this month as soon as I set eyes on it, I love it when Birchbox chuck in a nail varnish and this one’s a good’un! Lovely to apply, dries quickly and opened my eyes to a colour I wouldn’t have usually bought. This shade is slightly shimmery, tones of musky pink and lilac – I’ll be wearing this a lot and it lasted most of the week too. Minimal chipping.
Korres Bergamot Pear Body Milk
Korrs? Kor-res? I’ve still not found out how you really pronounce this brand since filming (thanks for planting that one on me Birchbox!) and just like nail varnish I always love trying out different moisturisers too – no matter what name they decide to call themselves (so far I’ve had: body butters, souffles and now milk.) Although lightweight I still found this incredibly hydrating but the smell – oh my word the smell – was the best part. A refreshing scent that stayed with you for a few hours – sooo lovely.
Laura Mercier Eye Pencil in Violet
I’ve not seen any of the Laura Mercier Primer reviews pop up yet – probably a good thing because I’d get jealous! – but despite receiving a purple eyeliner and doubts of using it I’ve actually worn it a few times now.
As you might expect, it’s not exactly a pencil and more creamy to apply. It’s a bit tricky getting it close to your lash line, but after applying mascara this usually isn’t noticeable (as you can see above.) Another product that’s turned my head to something new – a future purple eyeliner purchase is imminent (when this one runs out.)
Number 4 Lumiere d’Hiver Super Comb Prep & Protect
Didn’t use this – it contains a silicone!
Et Voila! My review is done. Please let me know if you prefer my reviews in this format, or rather me speak to you about them via a YouTube video! Talking of which, my Birchbox May Unboxing video will be uploaded later today – I’ll publish it here too, but in case you’re impatient click here to subscribe to my YouTube Channel.
Finally, you know the score – if you’re interested in subscribing to Birchbox too if you sign up via this link –> http://www.birchbox.co.uk/?raf=56133 then we BOTH get £5 worth of Birchbox points!! Go for it.
